Codes is a research project in Tekes Digital Product Process research programme.

The vision of the project is to study how an open, independent simulation software platform can be applied to industrial design and development processes, to develop and implement demonstration components based on semantic software platform implementation. Two different application domains are covered:

The objective is to study and demonstrate in practice the use of semantic data management in these domain areas. Also application of standards, especially ISO 15926 on plant model data exchange is studied and understanding this standard and its application to Finnish industry is disseminated.

In this project the concept of a product life cycle simulator is studied, and the design of the fundamental components on a semantic software platform is carried out. Usability and operation of such a large simulation environment in practice is also studied.
